Island Reef Job - How Can You Go Wrong?

With a name like Daydream Island, it’s pretty hard to have a bad day. Unless, of course, your idea of a bad day includes a rejuvenation day spa (one of the most advanced in Australia), kangaroos, the world’s largest lagoon style aquarium, and 4.5 star treatment every where you turn…

But then you would be a little crazy and I wouldn’t want to hang out with you, let alone be stuck on a tropical dream island with you.
So back to Daydream Island.

Right up my alley is the sail boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, and scuba diving. However, I might just be relaxed enough to try my hand at badminton (with emphasis on the BAD-minton).
Afterwards, I’ll probably hang out with my honey at the 44 foot outdoor movie screen for the latest new release. She likes martial arts, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for that.
Ooh! And no sticky floors!
I think I’ll choose to stay in the Coral Ocean Balcony room, which offers uninterrupted ocean views of the Whitsundays. Or maybe the Panoramic Suite, located in the Rainforest Wing with a panoramic view of Mermaids Beach…
Still sound like you can POSSIBLY have a bad day on Daydream Island?
Didn’t think so. I’ll see you there.

Ever wanted to “get away from it all?”

… disappear to a private destination with no work… no traffic… no deadlines…

Ever plan a vacation to a tropical destination, trying to do just that, only to find yourself smack dab in tourist-ville?

Ewwwww….

Check this out: Imagine being on a private island surrounded by 1300 hectares of national park, where only you and 41 guests are allowed to stay at one time. No phones, no TVs, and no kids under 15 allowed.

Can you say stress relief? Better than Xanax, for sure.

This is Orpheus Island in the Great Barrier Reef. Home to 1,100 species of fish and 340 of the 350 known species of reef coral, snorkeling or scuba diving becomes an experience of “getting away from it all” like you’ve never experienced before.

Now don’t get me wrong. This isn’t like some wilderness-bound camping trip where you have to cook your own hot dogs, take a cold shower under a bucket with holes, and let’s not mention the make-shift latrine…

Rather, staying at Orpheus Island is a lesson in luxury. Part of the experience includes being pampered by an all-inclusive gourmet cuisine and suites with in-room spas within a stone’s throw of the water’s edge.

However, my personal favorite is the Sunset Cruise. What a remarkable way to end a relaxing day on Orpheus Island. The 90 minute, hosted cruise sets sail into Hazard Bay. While enjoying bottomless glasses of champagne and appetizers, you get to bask in the sun setting on the Australian coastline.

Anyone else game?

Maybe I’ll see you there. Or rather, to REALLY enjoy the Orpheus experience, hopefully I won’t…

This is my official announcement for my candidacy as the Ambassador for tourism for Queensland, Australia. Though my application video is not yet complete yet, this makes a nice excuse to get my blog indexed so I can rank well.

I plan on making regular posts here, at least 6 days a week to update my progress in being selected for “The Best Job In The World”. This is, of course, the Island Reef Job, easily found at IslandReefJob.com

Don’t bother going there to apply though. There are already 100+ pages of applications, which means well over 1000 applicants. I expect the applications to increase exponentially as we get closer to the deadline in a little under 3 weeks.
