Island Reef Job - Orpheus Island - Sunset Cruise
Ever wanted to “get away from it all?”
… disappear to a private destination with no work… no traffic… no deadlines…
Ever plan a vacation to a tropical destination, trying to do just that, only to find yourself smack dab in tourist-ville?
Ewwwww….
Check this out: Imagine being on a private island surrounded by 1300 hectares of national park, where only you and 41 guests are allowed to stay at one time. No phones, no TVs, and no kids under 15 allowed.
Can you say stress relief? Better than Xanax, for sure.
This is Orpheus Island in the Great Barrier Reef. Home to 1,100 species of fish and 340 of the 350 known species of reef coral, snorkeling or scuba diving becomes an experience of “getting away from it all” like you’ve never experienced before.
Now don’t get me wrong. This isn’t like some wilderness-bound camping trip where you have to cook your own hot dogs, take a cold shower under a bucket with holes, and let’s not mention the make-shift latrine…
Rather, staying at Orpheus Island is a lesson in luxury. Part of the experience includes being pampered by an all-inclusive gourmet cuisine and suites with in-room spas within a stone’s throw of the water’s edge.
However, my personal favorite is the Sunset Cruise. What a remarkable way to end a relaxing day on Orpheus Island. The 90 minute, hosted cruise sets sail into Hazard Bay. While enjoying bottomless glasses of champagne and appetizers, you get to bask in the sun setting on the Australian coastline.
Anyone else game?
Maybe I’ll see you there. Or rather, to REALLY enjoy the Orpheus experience, hopefully I won’t…
